Born and raised on Detroit’s West Side, Delano Pettway Bey has spent the past 24 years navigating life under a wrongful conviction. A proud graduate of Thomas M. Cooley High School and a member of the Moorish Science Temple of America Inc., Delano’s resilience shines through his accomplishments, including computer literacy certifications, criminology courses, and self-help programs.

Delano began his writing journey in 2016, driven by his aunt Sunshine’s encouragement and the trials of his circumstances. His unique experiences inform his urban fiction, reflecting themes of hope, struggle, and redemption.
